It seems everyone is talking about handhelds these days. How much do they cost and how long will they last? We can tell you what they cost, however, how long they last is purely dependent on the treatment they receive. Some will remain in use for years and others will last only a few months.

Handhelds are, without a doubt, one of the most efficient tools to have in the distribution industry. Coupled with a routing program, handhelds have multiple benefits to your company:

There are several handhelds available for route drivers. Each driver will need a handheld, an SD card, and appropriate printer, which is normally worn on the belt. We use either a Secure Digital Card and Card Reader or wireless to send information to the handheld from the desktop computer.

Data can be transferred using wireless technology or using a card reader. This handheld can also be used as a cell phone or camera and can sync remotely. PC6700Carried by several cell providers and is a smaller version of a regular PDA. It uses a mini SD card and can sync wirelessly, with a card reader, or remote. It has a slideout keyboard and a camera. Printing is done through InfraRed with the O'Neil, Seiko, or Extech printers.
